Fettuccini with Chicken and Broccoli Gratin

  • 1 cup broccoli or 150 g, cut into florets
  • 250 g fettuccini pasta
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 300 g chicken breast fillet, cut into strips
  • 5 cups milk or 1250 ml
  • 1 sachet MAGGI® Béchamel Mix
  • 2 tablespoons red capsicum pepper, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • ½ tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1½ cups Mozzarella cheese or 150 g, grated

How to Prepare

  1. Cook broccoli florets in boiling water for 4 mins. Cool under running cold water,drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the fettuccini pasta according to packaging instructions preferably “al-dente”. Drain and cool under cold water then set aside.
  3. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and sauté garlic for seconds. Add and cook chicken strips for 5 mins or until it’s cooked then add milk and MAGGI® Béchamel Mix. Bring to boil with constant stirring then simmer for 2-3 mins or until the sauce thickens.
  4. Add red capsicum, basil, black pepper, boiled broccoli and boiled fettuccini pasta to the prepared sauce. Stir gently to combine all well. (Add salt to taste).
  5. Pour the mixture over a large baking dish and sprinkle the top with Mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in a 250°C preheated oven for 10-15 mins or until top becomes golden in color.
