Mujadara Musafaya

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion or 150 g, chopped
  • 10 cups water or 2500 ml
  • 3 cubes MAGGI® Chicken Bouillon Less Salt
  • 2 cups green lentil or 360 g, washed and drained
  • ⅓ cup Egyptian rice or 70 g, half cooked

How to Prepare

  1. Warm olive oil in a large pot, fry chopped onions for 3 mins or until they become tender. Add water, MAGGI® Chicken Bouillon Less Salt cubes and lentil. Bring to boil and simmer on low heat for 50 mins or until lentil is cooked.
  2. Blend the mixture using a hand blender or food processor until it becomes very smooth. Return the mixture back to heat. Add the rice and simmer on low heat for 20 mins with constant stirring or until rice is well cooked and mixture thickens. (Add some hot water, if needed).
  3. Serve the Mujadara Musafaya hot.
