Runner Beans with Tomato

Runner beans can be cooked briefly so they still have a little bite or slowly stewed in a sauce until soft. Check out other recipes in MAGGI® Arabia for more cooking inspirations.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium or 125 g onion, sliced
  • 800 g runner beans(flat green beans), trimmed and cut into 4 cm lengthwise
  • 8 cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 2 medium or 300 g tomatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cubes MAGGI® Vegetable Bouillon
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 cups or 750 ml water

How to Prepare

  1. Warm olive oil in a medium saucepan and saute onion for 3 mins or until onion is tender. Add the runner beans and stir over medium heat for 10 mins.
  2. Add garlic and tomato and stir occasionally for 4 mins or until tomato is tender.
  3. Add MAGGI® Vegetable Bouillon cubes, tomato paste, water and bring to boil.
  4. Simmer over low heat uncovered with occasional stirring for 50 mins or until beans are cooked (add water if needed).
