Spaghetti Bolognese with Beef Sausage & Peppers

  • 1 tablespoon or 15 ml vegetable oil
  • 500 g beef sausage cut into half
  • 1 medium onion or 100 g chopped
  • 1 medium carrot or 50 g finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • ½ cup hot water or 125 ml
  • 2 cubes MAGGI® Chicken Bouillon or 20 g
  • 8 medium chopped tomatoes or 800 g
  • 1 large green bell pepper or 150 g
  • 2 teaspoons dried fennel seed
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 packet spaghetti or 450 g
  • 8 cups water or 2 liters

How to Prepare

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan, fry beef sausages until fully cooked. Remove from pan and once cooled cut into 2 cm pieces.
  2. In the same pan sauté onions and carrots and continue to cook until soft. Add garlic, and tomato paste and sauté for an additional 1 minute.
  3. Add hot water,MAGGI® Chicken Bouillon, tomatoes, bell pepper, fennel seeds, basil, chilli flakes and oregano and allow to simmer for 1 hour.
  4. Gently place sausages in tomato sauce and simmer for 10 mins
  5. Cook pasta in boiling water until aldente. Drain pasta, discard water, and return to empty pot.
  6. Serve cooked pasta on a platter and pour over sauce on sausages.
